[Correspondence] 1899-1913 to John Obreiter concerning the erection of Pennsylvania's monument to the 77th regiment at Shiloh National Military Park.

Contains letter to the chairman of the Pennsylvania Shiloh Battlefield Commission concerning all phases of the erection of the state monument. Includes plans for the monument, photographs of some of the commanders, commission for transferring of battle flags. Obreiter's commission to the Commission, list of applications for transportation to the dedication at Shiloh, authority to publish the Shiloh report, and relevant newspaper clippings.

John Obreiter served with the 77th Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry Regiment as a non-commissioned officer from 1861-1865. He was appointed by the governor of Pennsylvania in 1901 as the Chairman of the Shiloh Battlefield Commission for the state.
